Biography:

Vladimir Sterligov has studied at literature class at the All-Russian Union of Poets in Moscow in 1923-1925.

Together with V.Ermolaeva, L.Yudin, K.Rozhdestvensky formed a group that called its art "painting-plastic realism" (1929-1934).

He has illustrated children's books.

In 1934-1938 he was convicted and exiled to a camp in Karaganda area with V.Ermolaeva and P.Sokolov.

In 1960 several young Leningrad artists formed around the artist what has later become the "Sterligov group" of followers, students.
