Biography:
After finishing Odessa Art School in 1900, studied at the Academy of Arts in St Petersburg, under D.Kardovsky and I.Repin (1900-1909).
From 1903 participated in exhibitions, including Union of Russian Artists and World of Art.
Member of the World of Art group.
From 1907 worked for the Theatre of V.Kommissarzhevskaya and for the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, as well as staging Russian ballets in Paris.
From 1917 lived in USA and worked as theatre designer for the Metropoliten-Opera and the Chicago-Opera.
