Biography:
Roerikh has studied at the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg University, at the Academy of Arts (1893-1898) under Kuindji, and at the studio of Cormone in Paris (1900).
From 1899 his works were displayed at exhibitions including Spring, World of Art, SRKh (Union of Russian Artists).
He was the president of the World of Art group from 1910.
The artist served as Director of the Drawing School of OPKh (Society for the Encouragement of the Arts).
He designed for the theatre and worked with Diagilev's "Ballets Russes" in Paris and London (1908-1914).
In 1918 Roerikh has left the Soviet Union. He lived in USA (1920-1922), and in India (since 1923).
He held exhibitions abroad, as well as one-man shows in Moscow (1958, 2001).
