The Russian Avant-garde Gallery is
reborn!

With the greatest pleasure I would like to announce that our web site has received a wonderful and totally unexpected gift: funding, which makes it possible to continue the unique work my mother began, in her memory.

You all know that the last the last 5 years had been a standstill, since my mother's death, with no further development of this site, except for the part I have promised to you and to myself: my mother's page. I have published illustrations Tatiana Kofyan created for several books, and you may see them on About the Author page.

You also know that the reason I have been unable to contribute to further developement to this site was not lack of will, but lack of time and money.

Well, this spring I have been contacted by one of our visitors, an Israeli collector, who wishes to promote this wonderful period in Russian art and his partner in this interest. It is to them I owe the deepest thanks for allowing me the necessary funding in order to promote this site. As a result, I am happy to say that I was able to quit my QA job and dedicate a lot of my time completely to the continuation of my mother's work.

Now, you must know that I am NOT an expert in this field, and must learn everything about it as I go along. So I ask you to show a little more patience now that the work has started. I shall be reporting the news and the progress made in all areas as I go along in the Announcements section on this page.

It took a couple of months to organise everything: purchasing the necessary equipment, hardware and software required for the scanning and processing of pictures and the updating of the website; moving my mother's professional library from my father's home to my own; designing and ordering the bookcases fit to carry such heavy and large books; learning to operate the new and unfamiliar software (a lot of time has passed since I built the existing site, and the professional software package is by another brand and so much more advanced).

Right now I am due to receive the bookscases and finally unpack the library, and and then immediately beging studying the notes she made before her death of the movements hitherto unpublished.

In the meantime I am going through all the existing pages to make sure everything is working correctly and uploading them again to the hosting.

Vera Kofyan
