Issue 009, September 30th 2009

Hello to all Russian Avant-garde Gallery visitors and subscribers. The first month of new school year is over, with all its rescheduling and hassle of new or renewed classes, so familiar to all parents. I am here to update you on for the work on this website done in September, which was naturally a slower month.

Also - this month we have celebrated the New Jewish Year, and another Yom HaKipurim is behind us. I would like to wish you all a very good year or hope, health, prosperity and enjoyment from art.

The Sukkot will begin in two days. Happy holidays everybody.

A New Artist in an Existing Category

This month I have gone back to an artist whose page in the group of the Blue Rose has been set up years ago, but did not do justice to his career. The artist I am talking about is Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin.

The page of Petrov-Vodkin has featured hitherto only 9 works, and could not in any way show a picture of this most prolific man. I have totally re-made this page, including a new biography, so now it is NEW, and shows 102 works by this artist.

I have also made a separate page for Petrov-Vodkin in the Mass and Agit art category; all in all nearly over 120 works:

  • Petrov-Vodkin, Kuzma (Blue Rose) - 102 works
  • Petrov-Vodkin, Kuzma (Mass & Agit Art) - 19 works

Recommended Books on Avant-garde - Individual Artists

These pages are constantly updated, and improved, so you may want to visit the section often, to see updated "check" icons next to the artists, whose pages were added with recommended books. They are here to serve you!

Reminder: Refresh Your Pages

As always, I would like to remind everybody to occasionally refresh the pages, due to the constant changes and additions on the website. This will ensure that you always see the latest version of the pages, and not the page cached (stored) on your computer from the last visit.

If you do not know how to do this - you can see instructions in the first issue of the newsletter, at the archive (the What's New page). Or see your web browser help section.
