Hello to all Russian Avant-garde Gallery visitors and subscribers.

School is finally (?) out, summer vacation begins today here in Israel, with its pools and beaches, and reorganization of time is called for. No more morning and noon driving to school and about half afternoon classes, for a whole of two months. Back to night-time working for me, whenever possible, hallelujah!

So, let's see what I can tell you this time, then.

A New Artist Added at Two Existing Categories

Last month I have opened another new movement: Makovetz. This month I add another artist in this movement - Sergey Gerasimov:

This name connects us to yet another superb landscape painter. However, due to his political views which were expressed, shall we say, in less than contrary manner throughout his career, this artist was accepted and recognized in USSR. One aspect of this recognition is that very little material is available on him which is not colored in the Soviet "Long live the proletariat" propagandist slogans. Weeding out all this stuff is quite a task, and not much is said beyond. My hope is this would change these days, hopefully sooner than later. Somehow I cannot buy that there was no depth to this man beyond the proclamation of the Soviets.

However, be it as it may, it also means that there was another page required for his outright agit works, and I placed another page for Gerasimov in the Mass and Agit Art section:

So there is a total of 108 new works.

Re-design of Introduction Section

In the upcoming month or two I plan to completely redesign the Introduction pages, so that they are more friendly to people who are new to Russian Avant-garde Art.

Though I have a pretty solid idea of what I want to do and how it should look and operate - I invite you all to send me suggestions, ideas etc.

Reminder: Join the Forum!

So far the Forum has not been able to rise off the ground. I realize it is way more fun to join an already successfully operating Forum than one in a beginning stage, but then again, without you there it cannot ever reach a successfully operating stage, can it?

I invite everyone to share their love of Russian Avant-garde with the other visitors and the world by posting their opinions, revelations, discoveries and questions on the forum in its various sections.

My 13-pages interview on a film about Rodchenko's photography is given, in PDF format, exclusively to those who subscribe to the Gallery Forum. Come join and post at the forum to get in touch with others who share your interests. You can also leave suggestions, ideas and other feedback regarding both the forum and the Gallery website, at the specially made "Suggestions and Feedback" subforum.

Reminder: Refresh Your Pages

As always, I would like to remind everybody to occasionally refresh the pages, due to the constant changes and additions on the website. This will ensure that you always see the latest version of the pages, and not the page cached (stored) on your computer from the last visit.

If you do not know how to do this - you can see instructions in the first issue of the newsletter. Or see your web browser help section.
